CLEVELAND, Ohio — Rate increases for city garages and parking meters will go into effect on Monday.

Legislation was passed in April to increase rates and use the additional revenue to pay for lot maintenance and to make upgrades to parking meter technology.

All meter rates will go up by 25 cents, and all lot rates will increase by $1.

It’s the first increase since 1989, officials previously said.
