LAKE COUNTY, Ohio (WJW) — A suspect is dead and lockdowns have been lifted after a deadly shooting at a Lake County trailer park on Thursday.

Three victims were killed and another was injured in the shooting at a trailer park along Mentor Avenue, which runs between Mentor and Willoughby. The I-Team first learned about the shooting Thursday evening.

Residents were evacuated from the area as a SWAT team tried to make contact with the suspect who reportedly barricaded himself inside a home there.

After an hourslong, standoff, officials confirmed after Thursday night that the suspect was found dead with a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

The person injured is stable and was taken to the hospital, according to police.

FOX 8 News crews were at the scene, where a large number of responders gathered.

Mentor Avenue was closed from Kirtland Road to state Route 306, but police say the roadway has since reopened.

Police have since cleared the trailer itself and city officials say the entire site will remain a crime scene until morning.

A spokesperson told FOX 8 there are some displaced residents who will be relocated to the Mentor Senior Center.

Investigators expect to release names of the shooter and victims Friday morning.
