Cleveland police officer faces judge on charges of assaulting woman

CLEVELAND, Ohio (WJW) – Cleveland police officer John Hawk appeared in court Thursday morning on felony assault charges.

The 40-year-old patrol officer was arrested Wednesday. In court Thursday, a temporary protection order and no contact order were put into place. He was also issued a $25,000 bond.

A court record obtained by the FOX 8 I-Team states Hawk hit a woman in the face, breaking her nose.

The report says the incident happened Wednesday in Cleveland.

Hawk was hired in 2018.

He’s been suspended without pay.
