WILLOUGHBY HILLS, Ohio — Willoughby Hills police say two of its officers were injured during a shooting at a car dealership on Thursday.

Police Chief Christopher J. Collins says around 2 p.m., management at Classic BMW on Som Center Road called officers for a customer problem.

“Upon making contact, there was a conversation between the officers; at some point during that contact, he [customer] drew a handgun and shots were fired,” Chief Collins said.

The chief says both officers are in stable condition; the suspect, who was also shot, is also in stable condition.

Collins says the initial contact happened in the service department.

Sources had earlier confirmed to the I-Team that two officers were injured, along with a third person, during a shooting at the dealership.

A portion of 91 was closed as crews and more authorities responded to the scene.
