CLEVELAND– Cleveland police on Thursday said a device found outside a city maintenance garage was not explosive.

The FOX 8 I-Team revealed the bomb squad was called Wednesday to 55th and Carnegie to a garage where crews fix city vehicles including police cars.

The bomb squad pulled out a robot to check out a call about a pipe bomb. A law enforcement source said something had been spotted in an old police car that had been scrapped.

The bomb squad found what police initially called a radio-controlled explosive device.

But, now we’ve learned this may have been tied to a hoax.
