LORAIN, Ohio-- Family and friends of 17-year-old Jayvian Johnson, of Lorain, are still grieving. The teen was killed in a hit-and-run accident.
"He is in a better place," said Linease Johnson, mother.
However, news of the arrest of Damion Cheers, 25, of Lorain gave them some peace Tuesday.
"I have some closure knowing that justice will be served for my grandson," said Patricia Johnson, grandmother.
Lorain police say Cheers was behind the wheel of the car that struck and killed Jayvian last week.

Jayvian was walking with his girlfriend on West 23rd Street Monday night when he was hit.
Police say Cheers kept on driving and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
"I hope that he gets life, because he took a life away," said Andrea Bentley, girlfriend.
Authorities arrested Cheers Tuesday and took him to the Lorain City Jail.
On that same day, Jayvian's family held a funeral and laid him to rest.
"It was overwhelming but I know he's at peace; I know he's at peace," said Patricia Johnson.
