CONCORD TOWNSHIP, Ohio– A crash involving a semi-truck shut down a portion on Interstate 90 westbound Wednesday afternoon.

The semi rolled over and lost its load at state Route 528 in Concord Township, the Ohio Department of Transportation said.

The highway patrol said the semi-truck driver was traveling westbound at mile post 206.8 when he lost control of his vehicle and overturned and traveled off the right side of the road. The semi was hauling large steel poles that spilled onto the interstate.

The driver, a 65-year-old man from Elyria, was taken to the hospital. The Ohio State Highway Patrol said unsafe speed is a contributing factor to the crash.

It remains under investigation.
