CLEVELAND - For years, the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs has been taking care of the men and women who serve and protect.

"Our goal here at the VA Medical Center is to serve those who served us, to pay it forward," Dr. Ronnie Nicholson-Davis said.

Whether veterans need help right away or years down the road, there is help ranging from education, to home loans, to life insurance, healthcare and more.

"We have a variety of services that are available to us that actually makes things just a little bit easier. As we sort of just think about after leaving the military and planning our lives, as it relates to the next steps."

Not all programs are federally funded and that's where the Fox 8 Fox Trot comes in.

The 4th annual FOX Trot, presented by your Northern Ohio Honda dealers, will be Sunday, August 28, at the new location on Mall C, across from the Convention Center.

Standard registration gets you into the 5K run or 1-mile walk and and a free shirt.  For premium registration, you'll also receive a free American flag, made in Ohio, and a raffle entry to win one of several flags flown overseas.

Continuing coverage on the 2016 FOX 8 FOX Trot.
