CLEVELAND- Changes are coming to the Horseshoe Casino Cleveland, including a different rewards program and eventually a new name.

Rock Gaming is beginning to transition operations of Horseshoe Casino Cleveland, Horseshoe Casino Cincinnati and ThistleDown Racino from Caesars Entertainment. The three facilities will be entirely operated by Rock Gaming in mid-2016, the company announced on Monday.

“This is an exciting time for us and we are eager to take the reins of day-to-day operations. We view this as an opportunity to leverage our unique culture and vast network of companies to grow the business and further connect the casinos to the downtown areas where they reside,” said Matt Cullen, CEO of Rock Gaming, in a news release on Monday.

The new ownership means a new loyalty program. Horseshoe Casino Cleveland will no longer use Total Rewards. Rock Gaming said it will be rolling over guests' Tier Status, Tier Credits and Reward Credits to the new program, and people will still be able to use them at Caesars casinos.

Rock Gaming said the rebranding process may continue to the end of 2016.

Current Horseshoe Cleveland employees will keep their jobs.

“Our top priority is making this transition a seamless experience for our more than 3,600 new team members and millions of guests,” Cullen said. “Our guests will still receive the same high level of commitment and service they have come to expect.”

As for the long-awaited Phase II of the casino, that remains on hold. The property on Huron Road was purchased using $80 million, but there are no immediate plans for expansion.

Cullen said there's no room in the gaming market and there is no sufficient demand.
