CLEVELAND- Home Depot is preparing for spring by hiring more than 1,300 people at its 30 Cleveland-area stores.

The company announced it will hire about 40 associates per store, and there are permanent part-time and seasonal positions available. Home Depot said the jobs include sales, cashiers and online order fulfillment.

College students, retirees and veterans are encouraged to apply.

Spring is the busiest season for the home improvement chain, meaning 80,000 new jobs nationwide.
