SOLON, Ohio- A Lakewood man was arrested after police say he made several suspicious phone calls to Solon High School.

Dwayne E. Brown, 52, of Lakewood, called the high school and the Solon Police Department on Thursday and Friday. Police said he claimed his son was having an emotional crisis and was a threat to the school.

Solon police increased their presence at Solon High School while they continued to investigate. During his calls, Brown refused to identify his son and his story was contradictory.

Police later learned Brown does not have any children.

Officers arrested Brown Friday night at his home on Detroit Avenue and charged him with making false alarms, which is a first-degree misdemeanor. He posted bond and was released. He’s scheduled to appear in Bedford Municipal Court on Feb. 4.

According to the police department, there was no threat to Solon High School students. The school district notified parents of the hoax calls in an email on Monday.
