CLEVELAND — Cleveland police released surveillance video of a man being hit by a car off Public Square in downtown Cleveland, in hopes of catching the hit-and-skip driver.

Sunday, just before 2 a.m. Michael Keough, 27, was walking across Ontario Street at South Roadway in front of the casino, in the crosswalk, but against a red light.

A white car, who had a green light, hit him.

Keough is tossed up on the hood and into the air, landing motionless in the middle of the street.

The driver of the four-door white Ford Crown Victoria or Mercury Marquis who struck him just keeps on driving.

“Yeah, I know I must have got hit pretty hard. I didn’t know it was that bad,” Keough said when Fox 8 News showed him the video.

“Watching that video I didn’t realize it was that extreme,” Keough said, as he leaned on a cane with his left knee in a brace.

Amazingly, Keough was not seriously hurt.

But he has no memory of being hit.

“I don’t remember. I mean, I went to the casino with my buddy for his bachelor party and I must have been leaving. I was probably trying to get a cab home and next thing I know I’m in the hospital,” Keough said.

He admits he had been drinking.

The engaged father of two has no broken bones, but a lot of bruises, and he fears he has a torn ligament in his knee.

“I’m guessing that’s where it clipped me when I did a flip. I didn’t realize any of the happened,” Keough said.

He and the Cleveland Police Department want to find the driver who hit him, then took off – not knowing if Keough was dead or alive.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Accident Investigation Unit at (216) 623-5295.
