Hit-and-run suspect wanted in Canton after woman struck by car

CANTON, Ohio — The Stark County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a hit-and-run suspect after a woman was struck by a car late Saturday evening, then left on the side of the road.

Officials say it happened just before 10:45 p.m. Saturday on US 62 westbound, near Rowland Avenue, when a Stark County sheriff sergeant found the 33-year-old woman unresponsive by the road.

She was taken to Mercy Medical Center for treatment, where her condition is currently unknown.

Investigators are looking for a dark-colored  SUV or van, with significant front-end damage and a broken windshield.
