CLEVELAND-- The American Heart Association is celebrating a decade of raising awareness and education about the number one killer of American women: heart disease.

Friday is the 10th annual Go Red for Women Day.

Women across Northeast Ohio and the country are wearing red to promote the fight against heart disease, which affects more than 40 million women in the U.S.

An educational luncheon was held Friday on the Tri-C campus, to spread a message of prevention and early detection.

The Go Red for Women campaign started in 2003 and has already helped save the lives of more than 600 thousand women.
