GARLAND, Texas — A woman in Texas suffering chronic headaches was shocked when doctors told her what was causing her pain.
She had tapeworms in her brain.
WCNC reports that Yadira Rostro, 31, had headaches and even sight impairment before doctors made the find. Doctors actually found sacs of larvae from eight tapeworm eggs, and they were growing.
Doctors at the Methodist Dallas Medical Center were able to remove the larvae. They believe contaminated food eaten during a trip to Mexico caused Rostro’s problem.
Doctors expect her to make a full recovery.
