CLEVELAND – Starting tonight, Friday, June 12, the Ohio Department of Transportation will be closing a number of key roads heading in the downtown Cleveland area.
Here are the closings and some alternate routes for you to take if you’re heading that way:
- East 9th Street: will close in both directions between Orange and Carnegie Avenues from 6:30 p.m. Friday thru 6 p.m. Saturday, June 13. Motorists will be detoured to Ontario Street.
- On Saturday, June 13 crews will close I-90 & the innerbelt bridge between I-490 and I-77 from 9:30 a.m. to 6 a.m. Sunday, June 14. You can use I-490 and I-77 as a detour.
At the same time as the bridge closing, the following ramps are expected to close intermittently throughout the weekend:
- I-490 west ramp to I-71/SR 176 south. When this ramp is closed, motorists should use I-90 west to W 41st/W 44th Streets and re-enter I-90 in the eastbound direction to continue on to I-71/SR 176 south.
- I-71/SR 176 north ramp to I-90 west. During this closure, drivers can use I-490 east to Broadway Avenue to I-490 west to I-90 west.
ODOT has also announced that due to unforeseen circumstances – including weather delays – the West 25th Street exit ramp from I-90 east is now scheduled to reopen on or around June 22.
Have a great weekend and be safe!
