Grand Jury Issues New Charges Against Bedford Judge

CLEVELAND– A Cuyahoga County Grand Jury has added five new charges against Bedford Municipal Court Judge Harry J. Jacob III.

According to the Cuyahoga County Prosecutor’s Office, the new charges against Jacob include felony counts of tampering with records and tampering with evidence; two misdemeanor counts of falsification; and one misdemeanor count of obstruction of justice.

A press release from Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Timothy McGinty said the new charges have to do with the judge’s handling of a 2012 domestic violence case involving a Bedford Heights man who had been accused of hitting a child.

In January, Jacob pleaded not guilty to charges involving public corruption and prostitution.
