Girl kidnapped from Missouri found in Minerva

MINERVA, Ohio– A missing Missouri girl was found at a Minvera man’s home on Thursday.

The Minerva Police Department was alerted that a girl missing from Missouri since March 11 may be in the village. Officers found her at a house on West First Street and 41-year-old Eric Shotwell.

The two met through the messaging app “Say Hi” and had been talking for a couple months.

Police said Shotwell drove to Missouri and brought the victim back to Ohio on Sunday.

Shotwell was charged with one count of kidnapping, two counts of rape and one count of assault. He was taken to the Stark County Jail.

Police said additional charges could be filed.
