BRUNSWICK, Ohio– Giant Eagle has set up a collection site for customers who may have purchased pure ethanol in portable containers at the Brunswick store this week.
The City of Brunswick said the collection site is open until 7 p.m. Thursday night, and also Friday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Brunswick GetGo gas station on Center Road.
The company said that particular GetGo received a shipment of unblended ethanol from its fuel supplier, Source One Transportation.
They said it was mistakenly dispensed into the site’s 87 octane fuel tank.
The delivery mix-up may affect customers who purchased gas between 7:45 p.m. on Sunday, July 28; and 2:30 pm. on Monday, July 29.
Drivers are still urged to call Giant Eagle at 1-800-553-2324 for further instructions.
