MANSFIELD, Ohio-- It is the event that defines just how tough you are and it's coming to Northeast Ohio.

The Tough Mudder, a 12-mile obstacle course designed to test your strength and stamina, is taking place this weekend in Mansfield and if you're running in it, you have some stiff competition.

Here is the team that is considered the unbeatable combination: The Super 8s.

"The obstacles are many and they are diverse and they are challenging and that looks like fun," said FOX 8 News Reporter Dave Nethers.

There are six familiar faces from FOX 8 News that will be running the grueling 12-mile obstacle course.

"I went out of my way to make sure we got good team members and that all the team members can carry 125 pounds, which is about my weight; so I can make sure they can get me through," said FOX 8 I-Team Reporter Peggy Sinkovich.

The team members were selected with a lot of consideration.

"I think the only reason I have been invited to participate in the Tough Mudder is to give Peggy a piggyback ride through the whole thing," said FOX 8 Photojournalist Doug Herrmann.

Peggy Sinkovich is the so-called ring leader of the group; but FOX 8 Meteorologist Angelica Campos calls herself the team leader.

"I like to call myself the team captain so I make sure they are running. I always ask them how long they're running so I should be top of the game. If not, I'm just going home," said Campos.

Every member of the team has trained individually for the event.

I've been leaping tall buildings with a single bound. I have been running faster than a speeding bullet," Nethers said.

Everybody has been on a strict diet regimen in preparation for the grueling event.

"This is the breakfast of Tough Mudders: chocolate cake and Diet Coke; so I have been on a constant diet," Sinkovich said.

FOX 8 Sports Anchor John Telich is considered one of the strongest links on the team.  Last summer, Telich ran the Burning River 100-mile marathon.

"It's totally different than going out and running 50 to 100 miles," he said.

There are plenty of obstacles that every competitor fears; the first one may be the most refreshing.

"I'm deathly afraid of the ice pond out of the gate. In mile one, you jump into an ice pond; who knows how cold it is going to be and then after that you have 11 more miles to go as you are freezing," said FOX 8 News Anchor Gabe Spiegel.

One of the members of the Super 8s isn't even worried about the obstacle course itself;  she's looking up for answers.

"I'm just worried about the weather, trying to keep it dry, trying to keep it sunny a little warmer; so I'm taking a look at the maps a little closer," Campos said.

The Tough Mudder supports the Wounded Warriors Project and will be run this weekend in Mansfield.
