CLEVELAND – One lucky FOX 8 News viewer will win a 2013 Honda Civic LX during an eight-day giveaway that started on Saturday, February 23.
FOX 8 News has teamed up with the Northern Ohio Honda Dealers Association to surprise someone with a two-year lease on a new vehicle. “Someone’s gonna walk away with a brand new 2013 Civic LX, automatic, loaded with all the power and goodies,” said Mark Lyon, President of the NOHDA. “We’re gonna surprise them with a pre-paid two-year lease. What’s wrong with that?”
According to Lyon, the new Civic is one of the best-selling cars in Northeast Ohio. “It’s a hip car. It has a great vibe to it but at the same time, it’s practical. It gets you that 39 miles per gallon, and it gives you all the features that you want.”
The contest runs through Saturday March 2. Anyone who downloads the FOX 8 app for their smartphone or tablet can find the secret to a free car. If you already have the app, you can still play to win.
“That would be fabulous, but I don't have those kinds of genes. I usually am not the winner,” said Debra Elam from Auburn Township.
Each day over the eight days, your chance at getting the keys and a two-year lease for the Civic depends on getting the secret word. Just open the app, head to the drop-down menu, look for the secret word and they'll be a number to send your text. Everyone can enter once a day, meaning eight chances to win a car that Honda owners can’t stop raving about.
“Oh, it’s fabulous. I love it,” said Elam. “[It’s] durable, drives well, haven't had any problems with it at all.”
“When you get the FOX 8 app, you get streaming news, breaking news, business, entertainment, you get everything in the palm of your hand,” said Lyon. “And what’s great, when you get the 2013 Civic LX Sedan automatic, you get bluetooth, you get streaming audio, you get back-up camera, you get all of it so what’s great, when you log on to get that FOX 8 app, you have a chance to get it!”
No smartphone? No problem! You can watch FOX 8 News at Ten each night to see the secret word. But when it comes to a local news app, there is nothing better. “We partnered with FOX 8 because you guys have loyal, great viewers and you’re the best of the best of the best,” said Lyon.
