WILLOWICK, Ohio — Four people including two police officers were hurt in a house fire on Lakeshore Blvd. in Willowick just before 7 a.m. Tuesday.
Captain Tim Bynane with the Willowick Fire Department said there was a report of a “disabled, trapped victim” in the house. Heavy smoke was showing as they arrived.
Two Willowick police officers, who were first on-scene, dragged a man out of the home. A woman was able to escape on her own. All four were taken to the hospital.
The man was treated for smoke inhalation; the woman was treated for burns. A family dog was also able to escape the fire.
Willowick police said Sgt. Robert Prochazka and Ptl. Christopher Olup were treated and released.
Bynane said the fire was contained to the first floor of the home and the garage.
