Former Browns great Bob Gain passes away at 87

WILLOUGBHY, OH – Former Browns great Bob Gain died Monday at Lake West Hospital. He was 87 years old. His widow, Kitty told Fox 8 news that Bob was in the hospital since last Thursday. The couple had been married 63 years.

Gain was a five time Pro Bowl player who played 13 seasons for the Cleveland Browns. He was a member of 3 NFL championship teams in Cleveland. He also played one season in the Canadian Football League. Gain played tackle, middle guard, and end.

He was an Outland Trophy winner at the University of Kentucky and was a first round pick in the 1951 NFL Draft. A College Football Hall of Famer, he was also inducted into the Kentucky Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2006.
