Five arrested in Canton drug raid

CANTON, Ohio- Police arrested five people on drug charges while serving a search warrant at a Canton home on Friday.

The Canton Police Department Special Investigations Unit and the SWAT team searched a house on Superior Avenue NE near 15th Street NE. They found about 31 grams of crack cocaine, heroin, marijuana and digital scales, according to police.

They also recovered a stolen Kel-Tec 9 mm handgun.

Officers arrested Walter Wells, 59, on possession of heroin, and Steven Davis, 54, on possession of drug paraphernalia. Davis, Dioneatah Walker, 21; Christine Machamer, 39, and Christopher Machamer, 43, were also charged with presence where drugs are used or sold.

Additional charges are pending and the case remains under investigation. Anyone with information should call 330-649-5929.
