AKRON, Ohio – First Lady Michelle Obama will be in Akron on Wednesday October 21 to speak with students.

The trip to Ohio is a part of her Reach Higher efforts and she will talk with students in the LeBron James Family Foundation’s Wheels for Education and Akron I PROMISE Network program.

The purpose of the event, held at the University of Akron, is to talk about the importance of post-secondary education.

This past summer, LeBron James announced that his foundation would team up with the University of Akron to fund thousands of students educations for current and future students.

To earn the scholarship, the students have to graduate from a school in the Akron Public School District and pass standard tests, have good attendance and have good community standings.
