HUNTSVILLE, Texas– A firefighter who was called out to an accident was horrified to find his wife and seven-year-old son were victims of the head-on collision.
Thomas Lake assistant fire chief Aaron Van Riper told KTRK, “My wife was laying there on the ground. (And) the look of the car, I don’t know how either one of them lived. I mean, there was nothing left of that car.” The car his family was in collided with an oncoming truck.
Van Riper said both his wife, Amber, and his son, Jonathan, suffered serious injuries and could both temporarily be in wheelchairs.
A Go Fund Me page has been set up to help the family pay medical bills.
