Fire Strikes KSU Power Plant

KENT, Ohio — Two buildings were evacuated as a precaution when a fire broke out at Kent State University.

According to the Kent Fire Department, the flames started in a turbine at the power plant on Ted Boyd Drive near Summit Street around 11 p.m. Thursday.

No one was hurt.  Nearby streets were closed during an investigation.

Classes are not expected to be affected.
