Fire destroys historical Stark County church

OSNABURG, Ohio (WJW)- A devastating fire has destroyed a historic church in Stark County.

The blaze broke out around 3 p.m. Wednesday at the Wildwood Chapel on Hein Avenue.  When firefighters arrived, the church was engulfed and the roof already collapsed.

The chapel was built in 1870 and held weekly services.

 Sadly, the church is a total loss.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
