NORTH RANDALL, OH - Fire investigators are trying to determine what started a fire Thursday night at the old Randall Park Mall.

The blaze started at around 10 p.m., and at one point, the flames were extensive. Despite that, crews were able to put the fire out within a half hour. There were no injuries reported.

The mall itself has been vacant for years. Back in 2014, portions of the mall were demolished.

At the time, a developer told Fox 8 that the property would be a good location for an industrial park.

Rehabbing the entire property was not practica,l but the developer said new life would be brought to the old Sears building and the Magic Johnson Movie Theater, which was one of the structures that burned.
