ROAMING SHORES, Ohio -- Authorities say the bones found in a fire pit in Ashtabula County belong to Alesha Bell, 18, who has been missing from Warren since July.

A press conference was held by the Ashtabula County Sheriff's Office Thursday morning to discuss the case.

The bones were discovered when narcotics agents raided a home on Route 6 in Roaming Shores on Aug. 20. The sheriff's office said they found the human bones in a backyard fire pit and in the woods near the rear of the property.

Deputies arrested a resident of the house, 40-year-old James Brooks, on numerous drug charges and abuse of a corpse.

Meanwhile, family members have been searching for Bell, claiming that the last person she was seen with was Brooks.

Bell's family held a press conference last week during which they pleaded for her return.
