ASHLAND, Ohio -- The Ashland Police Department has confirmed the identity of a woman found dead Tuesday.

The body of Stacey Stanley, 43, was recovered at 363 Covert Court, police say. A cause of death has not yet been determined.

She'd been reported missing from Huron County, police say.

Family previously told Fox 8 that Stanley was one of the victims found. Her son, Kory Stanley said he'd been looking for her for nearly a week.

"Last time I spoke with her she said she was getting coffee and going home; she never made it home that night," he said. "I feel so bad, I couldn't help her -- protect my mom."

Police were called to the area of 105 East 4th Street after another woman said she was being held in a home there against her will. They found her inside 363 Covert Court in a home that was supposed to be unoccupied.

Suspect Shawn Grate, 40, was also there.

Search warrants were prepared for that home and a home next door, and while investigators were at the scene, the remains of two people were found.

Family members say Stacy Stanley was one of those two victims. She was last seen with a flat tire at a gas station just blocks from the scene.

Authorities say Grate led them to a second location in Richland County, where the remains of a third person was found near a burned house. That victim has also not been identified.

Police say the house was set on fire in June.

Police and state investigators are expected to return to the two murder scenes Wednesday to continue searching for evidence.

Grate was arrested Tuesday and is being held in the Ashland County jail. He is being held on a charge of abduction. He could face additional charges.

A search of court records shows that Grate was divorced in 2012.

In June, he was charged by Richland County sheriff's deputies with a count of obstructing official business, and he also had prior charges of drug abuse and receiving stolen property.
