CLEVELAND - Family and friends of 33-year-old Lakesha Brown of Cleveland gathered to mourn her death Tuesday night.
"She used to call us the three amigos," said Dashane Patton, of Cleveland.
Patton and Reese Moore are Brown's two best friends.
"She had a heart of gold, would do anything for anybody. She was an excellent mom, good friend," said Patton.
But this mother of one and nursing assistant was killed early Tuesday morning after a wrong-way driver hit her SUV on Interstate 71.
Police say 22-year-old Kenneth Urbanek of Lakewood was behind the wheel.
Tuesday afternoon, the Ohio Department of Transportation released highway camera footage of Urbanek nearly missing three other drivers.
He eventually crashed head on into Brown underneath the West 140th Street Bridge.
Fox 8 is choosing not to show the collision.
Both drivers died at the scene.
"It's devastating. I just talked to her and asked her what we were doing this weekend," said Patton.
Meantime, police say alcohol may have been a factor in why Urbanek drove for at least three miles along I-71 in the wrong direction.
"I don't know what he was going through, what he was thinking, but my friend lost her life because of it," said Patton.
