Logan Boylen was diagnosed with leukemia 10 days before his 14th birthday. He was unable to start classes at Barberton High School this year and could barely participate in marching band.

The teen has been at Akron Children's Hospital for the past 26 days. It's likely he'll stay there through Christmas as he undergoes extensive chemotherapy and battles infections.

His mother, Leslie Swaney Boylen, said Logan has a good heart and worries about the other children on his hospital floor. She also described her son as a Christmas fanatic.

"He loves helping me bake Christmas cookies and delivering them to everybody on our street," Boylen said.

Her son's hospital room is decked out in lights and they're also collecting Christmas cards. Leslie said Logan's mood is amazing when he gets cards in the mail. On Monday, he was delighted to receive 32, including one from England.

Leslie works at the high school, but hasn't been there in months because of Logan's negative reactions to the chemo. She said she hasn't left his side since he was admitted to the hospital last month.

You can help cheer up Logan by sending a card to:
