EUCLID, Ohio —

Multiple fire crews responded Monday afternoon to an apartment building fire at the Indian Hills Senior Community, Fox 8 News reports.

According to Euclid Fire Platoon Chief Jim Czesar, firefighters were called to building J on East 191st Street, just after 5:30 p.m. The blaze started in an apartment on the fourth floor.

Smoke and flames could be seen when firefighters arrived, but Czesar says their “quick attack” on the fire helped confine it to one apartment. Crews got the blaze under control a short time later.

Czesar said a woman who lived in the affected apartment was taken to the hospital. Her condition and identity were not released. No other injuries were reported.

At least three other departments assisted EFD at the scene.

Motorists were being advised to avoid Euclid Avenue between East 191st and East 193rd streets.

Further details were not immediately available.
