CLEVELAND- Police are now looking for a pick-up truck in connection with an inmate who escaped from the Cleveland House of Corrections in Highland Hills.

Darryl W. Smith, 59, was last seen on Cleveland’s west side in a white 2003 Chevrolet S-10 in poor condition, police said. The truck, which likely has a stolen license plate, has a dent in the driver’s side door.

Smith, who has a history of violence, escaped from the corrections facility on Northfield Road at about 5:20 a.m. Wednesday. He was serving time for aggravated menacing and contempt of court.

Anyone who sees Smith should call 911 or 216-621-1234.
