HOLLYWOOD, California -- It's been more than 30 years since Alyssa Milano starred with Danny Pintauro on the hit sitcom "Who's the Boss."

But it's clear based on her emotional appearance on CBS's "The Talk" Tuesday that she still cares very much for former co-star.

Milano got emotional discussing Pintauro's recent revelation that he is HIV-positive.

"He is a beacon of light, and he will be," Milano said through tears. "I am proud."

Pintauro, who played Jonathan Bower on the long-running ’80s sitcom, shared his secret with Oprah Winfrey on her network’s “Where Are They Now?” show that aired over the weekend.

“I wanted to tell you this a long time ago, but I wasn’t ready,” Pintauro told Winfrey. “I’m ready now. I’m HIV-positive and I have been for 12 years.”

“I’m so grateful that this disease is now being discussed again,” Milano said on "The Talk" Tuesday. “Because it feels like there was such a long time that it wasn’t.”

“I hate that it took him so long to feel comfortable, but I’m so glad that he is able to express himself now,” she said. “And I guarantee you he will change so many lives.”
