SANTA CLARA, California — An elementary school principal is facing charges after police say he tried to sell drugs to an undercover officer.

Police say 42-year-old Eric Dean Lewis offered an undercover agent narcotics after chatting with him on a dating site. Police arrested Lewis when the agent agreed to meet him.

Police found a quarter ounce of methamphetamine inside Lewis’ home. They also recovered the party drug, GHB, and unmarked pills.

Lewis is charged with five felonies for drug sales and possession. He has been put on unpaid administrative leave by the school. School officials also sent a letter home with students to notify parents of the arrest.
