LOUISVILLE, Ohio -- A wrong turn leads to a dramatic crash between a car and a train, and it's all caught on a police cruiser's dashcam. Police say it's a tough lesson about the dangers of drinking and driving.

No one was hurt, but investigators say by the end of Friday evening, a car was destroyed and four different drivers were arrested for drunk driving.

The dashcam video shows that all anyone could do was watch helplessly as a stranded car is demolished by a freight train.

Police in Louisville, near Canton, say Friday night, officers arrested Antonio Tillison, 25, of Akron and charged him with driving while intoxicated.

"They allowed him to call for a ride to pick him up here at the police department, the person that he called apparently wasn't familiar with Louisville, had driven into the city and when he reached the railroad tracks on West Main Street, mistook those for a roadway," said Louisville police chief Andrew Turowski.

Turowski says that driver was George Pulos, 31, also of Akron.

They say when officers arrived on the scene, they realized that he was drunk too and arrested and charged him as well.

"How much have you had to drink sir?" a police officer can be heard asking Pulos in the dashcam video.

"I had three beers at the wedding and the last one was at 10:00," answers Pulos.

Police officers were in the process of contacting the railroad company to alert them to the car stranded on the tracks...but it was already too late.

"Hey, there's a train coming, there's a train coming....hey, hey, there's a train coming!" yells an officer.

Officers were able to clear everyone from the tracks, but the car was not so fortunate.

"They immediately recognized the concern when they found the car on the tracks, that was of course heightened and there was more of a sense of urgency when they heard the horn of the train," Turowski said.

He says this crash serves as another reminder of the dangers of drinking alcohol and getting behind the wheel.

"Certainly this could have ended in a much different way...it was a recipe for disaster, if you will, when a car is struck on the railroad tracks and a train is in fact driving down the tracks," said the chief.

Turowski says the train conductor saw the car on the tracks, but was not able to stop the train in time to avoid the collision.

He also says while officers were investigating the train crash and directing traffic at the intersection, the noticed two more drivers were impaired and arrested them for OVI as well.
