AFFTON, Missouri (KMOV) — One week after the deaths of Ethan and Owen Cadenbach, the boys were laid to rest. Dozens of friends and family packed into St. George Church in Affton on Saturday morning to pay their respects.

Some dressed up in superhero costumes since family members said that is what the boys loved the most.

Many wiped away tears from their eyes throughout the hour-long service. Parents held their children tight. Loved ones consoled family members who were having a hard time saying goodbye.

It was a somber service after a visitation Friday which saw hundreds of community members come as well.

Owen and Ethan Cadenbach were killed by their father, Christopher Cadenbach, last Saturday after he kidnapped them. Police say it appears their father then took his own life.

More than $35,000 has been raised through multiple GoFundMe pages to help with funeral expenses.
