CLEVELAND -- It looked a little like a disco on the streets of downtown Cleveland early Wednesday morning.

Traffic and street lights were malfunctioning and randomly blinking along East 9th Street and other parts of downtown.

Cleveland Police said it was a Cleveland Public Power issue.

According to police, the problem has affected several blocks near Public Square and areas north of Progressive Field.

It was not immediately known when the problem might be fixed.

If you encounter a traffic light that is out, state law requires that you treat it as a four-way stop.
