CLEVELAND – Thousands of Cavs fans flooded downtown Cleveland for Sunday’s first playoff game of the season.

The Cavs hosted a fan fest with games and watch party outside Quicken Loans Arena. With both the Indians and Cavs playing at home, people also packed downtown bars and patios. More than 45 bars and restaurants hosted Official Cavs Watch Parties, including Flannery’s Pub on East Fourth Street.

“With the Indians being back in town, especially something like this weekend, it’s great for the neighborhood. It’s great for the city to get a bunch of fresh faces downtown,” Flannery’s Pub Bar Manager Trent Musal said.

Musal said he anticipates downtown bars will get even more crowded as the playoffs progress.

“Playoffs are huge,” Musal said. “It’s something we look forward to all year long, definitely bringing a lot more people downtown than it normally would.”
