Teenagers in the UK could get the chance to permanently delete embarrassing Internet pictures and posts.

The Guardian reports that the proposal comes after growing concern that the Internet permanently records a person’s past mistakes, which can damage anything from job prospects to university offers.

California has a similar law in place called the Erasure Law.

It says companies must give teens the option of deleting immature rants or lewd pictures that would otherwise follow them for the rest of their lives.
