KAILUA, Hawaii — Lily the golden retriever only had a 10 percent chance of living after veterinarians found a tumor on her spleen.
But shortly after the diagnosis, Lily got some miraculous news — and her reaction to it is going viral.
Lily’s owner posted her story on YouTube. The post states that veterinarians told them Lily had Hermangiosarcoma, kills many golden retrievers. They were told there was a 10 percent chance that the tumor was benign and that “in 20 years it’s never happened.”
Her owners didn’t give up — they emptied their savings account to have the six-pound tumor removed. It was tested for cancer, and a week later the family got the results.
They read the results to Lily, and her reaction is heartwarming. The YouTube video has gotten over 1.2 million views.
