CLEVELAND — A gruesome discovery made in the upper area of Edgewater Park has left those at the Cleveland APL “mystified.”
Now investigators are trying to figure out what or who may be hunting small animals.
A dog walker found the body of a small dog that was so mutilated, the pictures cannot be published.
What can’t be explained, at least not yet, is why the animal’s paws were wrapped in gauze.
The person who found the dog told the APL others have seen dogs in similar conditions.
“If that’s true, we really would like to hear from people as soon as possible. We’re trying to figure out if we have something going on with a natural predator versus something not so good going on with a human predator,” said Sharon Harvey, the CEO of the Cleveland APL.
Harvey explained that if only one dog was found, there may be a coyote to blame, but if this has happened or continues to happen, more investigation will be needed.
