INDEPENDENCE, Ohio-- Jimmy Dimora's old house has a new owner. A family from Florida had no idea they were buying one of the most famous homes in northeast Ohio. They call the home the "perfect house in the perfect neighborhood."
Brian LeRoy, his wife and four children moved here from Florida. He works for an information technology company headquartered in downtown Cleveland.
The Independence home went up for sale in May. It was originally listed for nearly $460,000 but the price kept dropping and the last listing price was $414,000. LeRoy has heard a lot about Dimora and the history of the house. But he doesn't think about the home's notoriety.
"I don't really have any comment on the fame," he said. "I'm caught off guard by the media welcoming me to northeast Ohio. It is not something I was expecting."
Dimora is serving a 28-year prison sentence on public corruption charges. His wife will keep half the proceeds from the sale. The government will get the rest.
LeRoy and his family are not concerned about any of that. They told Fox 8 they love their new home and their new neighborhood.
