Deputies search for driver involved in deadly hit-and-run in Stark County

PLAIN TOWNSHIP- The Stark County Sheriff’s Office is searching for the person responsible for a deadly hit-and-run accident.

It happened on US 62 and Middlebranch Avenue in Plain Township around 9:57 p.m. Tuesday.

The sheriff’s office said they received calls about a suspicious person in the roadway and when deputies arrived on the scene they located a man lying in the road.

The victim was deceased. The Stark County Sheriff’s Office is asking for help identifying the victim. The person is a white male, about 50-60 years old, 5’9″, 150 lbs. He was trying to cross the street when he was struck. Authorities think he may have lived in the area.

The sheriff’s office is also asking for help locating the driver who left the scene.

They are looking for a possible 2011-2012 Hyundai Sonata with damage to the passenger side mirror and possible damage to the front and passenger side of the vehicle.  The color of the car is not known.
