CUYAHOGA COUNTY– President Barack Obama has made a federal disaster declaration for storm-related work in Cuyahoga County, after Hurricane Sandy hit.
The storm did damage throughout northeast Ohio on Oct. 29 and Oct. 30.

The Ohio Emergency Management Agency has estimated storm damage costs at nearly $18 million.
The Cuyahoga County Office of Emergency Management, along with the Ohio EMA are asking that all eligible organizations (political subdivisions, special districts, local/regional authorities, public schools/colleges/universities and certain private non-profit organizations) attend a briefing that will detail the application and reimbursement process.
The briefing will be Thursday, Jan. 10, at 10 a.m. at a location to be announced later.
