CSU Police Investigate Alleged Campus Assault

CLEVELAND — Police on the campus of Cleveland State University are investigating an assault that allegedly took place around 2:00 p.m.

Joe Mosbrook, Director of Strategic Communications at Cleveland State, shared with Fox 8 News an e-mail that went out to students at 3:58 pm. today. 

The e-mail alerted students to the incident, where a student was approached by three teenagers who allegedly assaulted him and took a book bag.

According to the e-mail, the suspects fled the scene following the attack and ran south near East 28th street.

Campus Police say the suspects are described as African Americans males in their mid-teens.

The student described one suspect as being bald, or wearing short hair, while another suspect was described as having dreadlocks.

According to the e-mail, all three suspects were wearing plain black and white shirts.

Authorities ask that anyone with information contact campus police at (216) 687-2020.

According to Mosbrook, Cleveland State’s Safety Escort Service is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week if a students needs assistance while walking to and from class. Students can call (216) 687-2020 to be escorted.
