Crews demolish Akron apartment building hit in plane crash

AKRON, Ohio -- Crews this morning demolished what was left of an Akron apartment building hit by a small passenger jet last week.

On Nov. 10, the Hawker plane was approaching Akron Fulton International Airport when it crashed into the four-unit apartment building. It killed the pilot, co-pilot and seven passengers. No one on the ground was injured.

A preliminary report on the crash was released by the National Transportation Safety Board Wednesday.

The jet's engines, flight controls and landing gear were in tact. According to the NTSB report, investigators also recovered the cockpit voice recorder.
