Three hurt in motorcycle crash that closed I-71 in Brunswick Hills

BRUNSWICK HILLS TOWNSHIP, Ohio- Three people were injured during a crash on Interstate 71 in Brunswick Hills on Friday.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol said two motorcycles were going southbound on I-71 when one biker slowed to help a car on the side of the road. The second biker did not slow and hit the first motorcycle.

The riders were completely rejected.

John Eakin, of Sharon, Pa., was taken by medical helicopter to MetroHealth Medical Center and 33-year-old Paul Ottum, of Brooklyn was transported to Southwest General Hospital. Troopers said a woman was also taken to Southwest General Hospital, but her name was not released.

According to the highway patrol, the injuries do not appear to be life threatening and alcohol is not a factor.

I-71 was closed for about 45 minutes.
